One of the prettiest venues in Connecticut resides along the banks of the Farmington river in Simsbury, Connecticut. Just a short 15 minutes up the road from our office, we love shooting here and all of the amazing locations in
Well, I mean really, how come every Wedding this year has left me speechless? Like really? Another perfect Wedding. How do I get so lucky doing what I love with amazing people!
Okay, so whats better than an amazing Bride and Groom? Two Amazing Brides! Double the beautiful details! And to top it off, the most infectious laughter. I mean really, I was shooting on a 200mm lens from far away, and I hear one laugh, and another laugh, and all I could do was laugh too! Their entire day was no different, smiles across the board!
I LOVE Durham, CT. I love all of my people from Durham. Durham was quite an amazing place where in the 1990's families just stayed there. Everyone knew everyone in one way or another. It makes shooting any wedding from anyone from Durham special. Nate and Alicia definitely did not disappoint! From start to finish, their day was unique, beautiful, and thoroughly planned. They planned an Autumn Rustic Country wedding on the River, and they nailed it on the head. I could say much more, but really, I think only pictures can accurately reflect how amazing this day was.

We rushed outside when there was a break in the rain. As everyone got situated outside, the skies opened back up. It could not have been more perfect if we planned it. While we were ready to just sit in the rain, it was officially called to relocate back inside. A common theme that every couple seems to give as advice is "things aren't always going to go your way, but at the end of you day you marry the person you love". And their wedding was no exception. The threat of rain loomed all day, and it held out until everyone was dressed and ready to take photos outside. While the outdoor ceremony was rained out, the love still flowed just as happily inside (well with the exception of Blake who was not interested in all the attention).
While the rain may have dampened us, it didn't dampen the spirits inside. The indoor ceremony got underway a little late, but it was worth the wait! While short time, always hurts us, we managed to come out with some really beautiful photos when it was all said and done!
If you happened to watch the news in Connecticut in October, there is a pretty good chance you might have seen one of the more heartwarming moments of the evening. Andrew sang and absolutely lovely rendition of a Dustin Lynch song for Kelly and her Father who had lost their Mother and Wife earlier this year.
It was a night full of amazing people, celebrating an amazing couple, and we were honored to be a part of it.
Dave and Paige are an amazing couple! When I asked what one of their favorite stories was about themselves, they gave the perfect response. When Dave met Paige, he told his mom she was the one! They did not start dating until 7 years later. Its things like that, which only make a day like this so much more special!
They planned a perfect Bohemian Glamour themed wedding, down to every last detail. Including what I thought was super cool, but home made cook books with some of their families favorite recipes! I mean really? How awesome is that! (p.s. I am gonna need a pdf of that, I didn't get one and I need all the help in the kitchen I can get!)
Their first dance to Ed Sheerans Think Out Loud, was an absolutely perfect moment, with a gorgeous dress spinning about. And I had to include some bouquet toss shots, that I normally don't in these post, because Paige threw the bouquet like a boss, and Dave matched it!
And to get into the sentimental moment, that really hit me in the feel goods. Daves wedding ring is that of his late grandfather, and I happened to be outside, at just the moment when he showed his grandmother his ring. I mean come on, really? You trying to make people cry tears of beauty?
With all the planning and thought, they threw an absolutely spectacular day, and every vendor came through and provided a perfect evening.

I met Jono and Hayeon last year at Jonos Brothers wedding. Let me tell you, the Pilattis know how to throw and awesome wedding, and my second Pilatti wedding was no let down. Jono and Hayeon are an amazing couple, so amazing in fact they had 2 Weddings! One here at Wickham Park and a second with all of Nicks family flying around the world to join them! The most memorable moment for these two of their day was setting eyes on each other for the first time. With the scenic backdrop of Hartford behind Jono and the lovely gardens of Wickham Park behind Hayeon, I can't blame them! The rain held out just long enough for a perfect ceremony, and when the showers rolled in, we of course had to take advantage with some night shots.
Their first dance should not be left out either! We all got 'Rick-Rolled' as they danced to Never Gonna Give you up by Rick Astley, but things only got more exciting when they added a second song to the first dance, finishing it off with Back That Ass Up by Juvenile. I mean really, how awesome are these two.
Their Rustic Log Cabin themed wedding really came together with some truly great vendors and lots of hard work put in by these two! And knowing how things have gone so far, I can happily say, I can't wait to continue to be a part of the amazing Pilatti Family! See you guys when Jackie gets married!

The biggest surprise of Luke and Karas big day was "A surprise rainstorm during dinner. We were just about to start eating the main course when wind blew in the tent knocking glasses off tables and swinging the chandeliers." That rainstorm, led to one of my favorite images! I would like to thank the quick passing storm for giving us a beautiful double rainbow! It really added to an already extra special day.
Doug and Lauren was one of those weddings that was so perfect and emotion filled! From start to finish, we felt like we were a part of their family. So many hands took part in their amazing day! And with the attitude "if things go wrong, its still going to feel like the perfect day in the end, so just enjoy every second." We couldn't help but feel that energy throughout the day. Though I must say, nothing could have gone more perfect for these two.
